Nearly all the major companies in India visit Amrita University for placements. These include multinational companies as well as Indian companies with a global footprint. Companies from other countries, especially from the Middle East, also recruit students from Amrita.

Experienced teams of counsellors and training officers guide and motivate student learning at each campus. CIR is headed by Prof.C. Parameswaran, Director of Corporate and International Relations.

The whole effort is directed toward overall development of students in the areas of life skills and technical competence coupled with dedication, commitment and a strong sense of human values. Many students get opportunity to work in organisations of repute and as a result, our university is visible to MNCs as a great source of supply of highly skilled man power besides getting to know of the facility, infrastructure and resources. CIR is present in all the five campuses with the same vigour and focus and all efforts are being made to empower the students with requisite knowledge and skills to make them confident and comfortable in any situation. The recruiters are extremely happy with the performance of our past students as they are found to perform well under stress and more importantly, they exhibit a passion for learning. Little wonder, recruiters are competing with each other to get fresh talents from our pool year after year.

We invite all corporates to participate in our many-faceted activities at Amrita. Please mail us at cir@amrita.edu.

Recruitment

Amrita FacultyRecent placement statistics indicate 100% placement for engineering graduates from all the three Schools. 2012 batch commenced with Infosys and Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) who have offered between them 2,518 placements to Engineering, MCA and M.Sc. students of Amrita. Average number of offers per student placed is 1.95. The average salary of an engineering graduate is Rs.3.7 lakhs per annum and the highest salary offered at present is Rs.13.39 lakhs per annum.

In keeping with business and industry trends in India, the largest numbers of job offers are made by the IT firms. Several engineering companies also recruit students; and at Amrita, we actively encourage students to consider pursuing careers in the core engineering fields. Every core engineering student gets many opportunities to participate in placement by core companies, notwithstanding the fact that they have one or more offer from IT companies.

Amrita alumni hold leading positions in companies of international reckoning. Companies compliment the institution for the significant contributions made by Amrita graduates in their respective fields. And they talk about the positive influence of Amritians' personal behavior on their colleagues.

Corporate India has begun taking notice of the value-based education students receive at Amrita. This may be the primary reason why employers recruit in such large numbers, year after year, from Amrita. During the placement season, CIR headquarters at Coimbatore serves as the focal point where students from all the three campuses assemble for campus placements.

Life Skills Development

Amrita FacultyLearning and Development Wing of CIR provides training to students to help prepare them for life. Training is imparted to hone their skills in numerical aptitude, including logical reasoning and problem solving.

Emphasis is also placed on the development of good communication skills. Students have a chance to improve their skills through mock interviews, group discussions and presentations. Frequent tests are administered to simulate corporate testing processes, so when the students finally come face-to-face with the rigorous testing process of employers, there are no surprises. The training also helps students to acquire their dream jobs and facilitates the development of their overall personality. Amrita is a certified Japanese language training institution and hence classes for Japanese language levels 3 & 4 are conducted for those students desirous of working internationally.
