Amrita School of EngineeringThe Amrita School of Engineering at Amrita began offering the B.Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2005.
Student intake doubled to 120 by 2009. There are 60 students in each class.
The Department focuses on the overall development of students through participation in projects, seminar presentations and industrial visits.
Department faculty members actively supported the European Union funded research project, WINSOC, where a wireless sensor network was deployed for prediction of landslides. The technology deployed had several advantages over conventional technologies in terms of cost, size and power consumption.
The Department prides itself on rapid growth and effectiveness in implementing a healthy learning atmosphere. It actively supports research and development activities such as paper presentations and inter-disciplinary projects which are indicative of work being undertaken by the department.
