The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Amritapuri Campus offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Over 1000 students are currently enrolled in the B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs offered.
In addition, the Department offers a 3-year MCA program, a 2-year M.Sc. (Computer Science) program and a 3-year B.Sc. (Computer Science) program.
Major areas of research include Wireless Sensor Networks, Digital Image Processing, BioInformatics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
Every year the Department conducts the Asia Regional Contest for the world's largest inter-collegiate programming competition, the ACM-ICPC.
The Department is an active participant in the Campus Connect Initiative of Infosys, a unique academia-industry initiative that seeks to architect the education experience. It has received the Best Campus Award from the Infosys team.
Students of the Department are encouraged to participate and present papers at both national and interational conferences. They have won prizes in events such as IBM XML SuperStar, The Great Mind Challenge, Aspirations 2020 at Infosys and Sun Code For Freedom.
